The QBC buys all the equipment for 8th grade and up. The high standard safety equipment is very expensive but needed to protect the players. Additionally, the video, audio equipment and its maintence are very expensive but much needed in today’s competitive recruiting environment. The technology is continually changing and we must stay up to have the best exposure of our players.
The May 21st is the spring game at 6pm against Escambia County HS. Rising 8th and 9th graders play on May 20th at Spanish Fort H.S. We get 10 days of spring practice this week and next week. We have had some 40 college coaches come through the field house in the last few weeks. We are looking for a Defensive Coordinator and we are waiting on mandatory transfers to be placed.
June 6th begins summer workouts unless at a church/mission camp. If the boys are in town they are expected to be at workouts. The coaches need to know about time they will not be there. July 25th is a dead week so it is recommended to schedule a vacation during that time or May 30th week. August 1st is practice begins for all teams. The school begins on August 15th.
We are looking currently looking for a JV cheerleader coach. Mrs. Horton and Coach Vickery are aggressively looking to fill this important position.
Coach Vickery reminded everyone that as wonderful as last season was, a new season is beginning. We are looking for new leaders among the players and a renewed spirit in our supporters. We have great expectations and we are not going to live in the past but look forward to a bright future for the team.
Parents and supporters are welcome to attend practices and encouraged to enjoy every minute with the players and cheerleaders as the time is short. He again thanked everyone for their support and attendance.
