Minutes 11/16/10

  2010 DAPHNE QUARTERBACK CLUB

November 16, 2010 MINUTES

Welcome:

The meeting was called to order by President Paul Deterding.  He welcomed the supporters and thanked them for their continued support this deep into the season.  He turned the meeting over to Coach Glen Vickery for and update.  He thanked the group for volunteered for the concession stand.

Coach Update:

No highlights until Thursday night at the Pep Rally.  He announced that we were number 2 in the Eastern Shore Toyota competition which results in a $2000 award for the Quarterback Club.  Coach Vickery talked about the Mama Mia fundraiser by Seeds which will result in additional funds.

Coach Vickery recapped the Daphne over Foley win.  He really believed that the players were ready to play and that resulted in an excellent game.  He talked about the upcoming Wetumpka game.  We are healthy and continuing to keep the players focused.  Wetumpka is a good team with an outstanding quarterback and a very fast receiver.  They are a good team offensively and strong defensively.  It is going to be a very challenging team.  Our players are strong and ready for the game.   They are known to do some creative options off the punt as the quarterback is the punter.

Stanhope will play against Davidson and when we will we could face Stanhope away or Davidson at home in the next round of the playoffs.

Letterman jacket orders will be tomorrow at cost of $175.00 each and money will be due tomorrow.

Cheerleading Update:

The cheerleaders are in good shape for the week.  The bust –though sign is very good this week.   JV cheerleaders cheered for opening of basketball season. It was great to see the JV cheerleaders add to the numbers.

Dance Team:

All is well on the dance team.

Upcoming Events:

Community Spirit Rally will be this Thursday at 6:30 pm at City Hall.  Slides will be available and music by Robert Ross.  The band will be attending.

Boston Butts are available for $30.00/each.

Concessions:

We continue to need volunteers and are looking for family members/friends outside the immediate supporters.

Coach Vickery Closing:

We are looking forward to a big win.  After the win we will practice on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. (Thanksgiving) day for approximately 1.5 hours then head to either Stanhope or host Davidson at home.  He thanked everyone for the continued support of the Daphne Trojans.
